Alpine Vista Retreat

Alpine Vista Retreat is Cripple Creek's largest and most luxurious vacation rental.  Built in 2003 as a Bed and Breakfast, each guest suite has a full attached bath with a hydrotherapy tub in most.  We are no longer a Bed and Breakfast facility but the layout provides our guests with considerably more privacy and a much higher-quality experience than other vacation rentals.  From the deck and most windows, guests enjoy unobstructed views of the Sangre de Cristo mountain range and with 8500+ square feet of living space and 27 contiguous acres, the property can accommodate virtually any group from family reunions, weddings, corporate retreats, conventions, hunting/fishing parties, etc.  The property also features over 7000 square feet of outdoor living spaces including covered decks, large patios with water features, gardens, rock outcroppings, trees, etc. with ample patio furniture and a fire pit.

Centrally located 45 miles west of Colorado Springs, 90 miles southeast of Breckenridge, and 50 miles north of Canon City.  Despite the secluded, "top of the world" feel; in 5 minutes you can be in the heart of Cripple Creek enjoying all the attractions, gambling, shopping, etc.

Alpine Vista Properties is the only place to go for luxury vacation rental properties in the Gold Camp region and Alpine Vista Retreat is the signature property in the Alpine Vista Properties portfolio.  Call 913-707-8765 to book your mountain vacation now and enjoy all the area has to offer or check-in and leave the world behind for a few days or weeks:

Amenities & Accommodations

The main retreat features 8 bedrooms and 7.5 baths and sleeps 16 in beds; 4 King-sized suites, 3 Queen bedrooms, 1 bedroom with 2 twin beds.  Larger parties can add our new Family Quarters (opened September, 2016) to their reservation for an additional $520 per night.  The Family Quarters adds another King Bedroom with attached bath and a bedroom with (2) Twin over Double bunk beds.  This brings the in bed sleeping capacity for the entire retreat to 24.  There are Hydro-therapy tubs in virtually every guest room.  A fully stocked kitchen includes new stainless appliances, double oven, dishwasher, double sink, microwave, small appliances, cookbooks, dishes, utensils, 2 Kuerig coffee makers, etc.  Large island allows for team cooking, potluck style serving, crafts, game nights, or just hanging out and catching up with friends and family.  1 gas fireplace in one of the King-sized guest suites.  In-floor, radiant hot water heating through-out the property.  Two indoor dining areas with large tables.  Outdoor dining tables and a large 5 burner Vermont Castings propane gas grill for guest use.  Two wicker porch swings to enjoy the amazing views from the front deck along with plentiful other outdoor seating to capitalize on this once in a lifetime opportunity!  Pool table and lots of board games provide hours of fun.

Be advised that the retreat sits atop a rather steep and approximately 800 yard dirt access road!  We do our best to maintain this road but we highly recommend SUVs particularly in winter months.

An outdoor and nature-lovers wonderland!  Views that will take your breath away.  Hiking, mountain biking, BMX track within 3 minutes of the property, fishing, hunting, ATV and jeep trails, etc.  Bird lovers are sure to like the 5 houses that are installed on our porch.  We are graced each year with blue birds for sure in house #1 and a variety of others depending on who arrives first each year and stakes their claim.  Once we get an update from a few guest ornithologists we will update this site with more details about this year's inhabitants.  Expect to see deer, elk, fox, coyotes, the world famous cripple creek donkeys, squirrels, raccoons, and even a rare bear or mountain lion sighting right from the comfort of your deck chair or a hike around the property.

We are excited to be under new ownership effective 6/28/2016.  Our new owners (Chris and Erika) immediately put their mark on the property by upgrading our already outstanding guest experience with all new high quality linens, new flat screen televisions, some new furnishings, artwork, etc.  Interior decorators have been busy transforming the overall property look and feel.  5000 square feet of hardwood flooring have replaced the old carpeting and new paint adorns the walls.  A comprehensive and multi-hundred thousand dollar renovation occurred throughout 2016-2017 including a new back patio, access road improvements, central humidifier, appliance upgrades, etc.  In 2018 the kitchen was fully renovated including granite countertops, stainless appliances, white cabinets, gas cooktop, etc.  In 2019, we added an amazing, multi-level, outdoor event area for weddings and other large events.  This includes over 6000 square feet of pavers, professional landscaping including water features, gardens, rock outcroppings, etc.  Talk with Erika for special event pricing.

Location

Cripple Creek can be reached from three directions. It's about 50 miles west of Colorado Springs via highways US 24 and CO 67. From the west, highway US 24 joins Teller County road 1 at Florissant for the 18 mile drive into Cripple Creek. From Canyon City to the south, county road 88, a Scenic Byway, follows the historic Shelf Road, one of the historic access roads to the mining district. Regardless of the route you choose, there are a number of interesting and enjoyable tourist attractions along the way.

Our property is located on the Southwest side of Cripple Creek.  No matter how you accessed Cripple Creek, find your way to the intersection of A Street and Carr Ave. or Bennett Ave.  Go south and take a right on Thurlow Avenue.  Thurlow Avenue becomes CR 89 and navigates you through the public works yard.   Take the first right onto Stratton Circle and then the first right onto our private road to access the property.  You will see the sign to our property at the base of the driveway.  The 1/4 mile driveway is shared with 3 other houses, unpaved and steep in places so we recommend sport utility vehicles especially in winter months.
